About Stepping Stones
Teacher - Amy Trent
I have been teaching preschool for 24 years. I started my first class in Mesa, when my oldest child was five. My classes and experience grew in the following years. We moved to Snowflake, where I began Stepping Stones Preschool in August 2021.
Daily Plan
Teaching gives me the opportunity to bring a light to children. I love to see their eyes when they learn something, or when they try new things. I want all children to learn to communicate, and to feel loved. I want them to recognize what they can do and to be happy with who they are. My goal is to not only give them a head start in school, but a great start in life. I love being a mother, grandmother, and teacher.
Drop off before class so there is time for free play, friends, and getting comfortable. We start the day playing and working one on one with the teachers.
Calendar asnd songs with the class is great. We learn and review letters, rhymes, shapes, numbers and more.
Art and science lets the kids minds and hands explore new things. We make bread, pizza and ice cream. We explode volcanoes and dig for dinosaurs. We paint, cut, glue, and create nearly every day.
Snack time is a favorite. Students take turns bringing a snack to share. They help pass it out asnd get to be the spotlight for the moment.
Outside play, when weather permits, is a great time for using their energy. Kids enjoy running, imagining, bug hunts, obstacle courses, water days, chalk, sensory walks, and more.
Games for learning are alsways exciting. Letter hunts, number jumps, feelings matching, and so many more. Fishing for numbers, name letter puzzles, painting with marbles, are just some of the activities keeping the kids moving while they learn.
Books and songs wind the kids down. They get their bags ready (that we make here at school), and are ready to share their day with their families.
